Flying Treehouse

sketch comedy from second graders’ imaginations

Sept 2023 - present

Flying Treehouse is one of my favourite parts of Stanford. It is a sketch comedy group where we teach creative writing to second graders, then transform their stories into original skits. Over the quarter we write scripts inspired by the kids’ ideas, but the actual show comes together in a whirlwind four-day sprint: directing, blocking, building props, rehearsing, and performing for both the children and a Stanford audience.

I love Flying Treehouse because there is something uniquely joyful about creating an entire show from scratch with a team in just a few days. It has also been a way for me to tap into my creative and silly side.
